I write to you with deep concerns for our nation’s well being. As of late, while following the presidential election and observing the candidates’ often crude remarks towards one another, I am developing a sort of fear of the unknown… which presidential candidate will do the best for us?

Just imagine, you are taking care of a post-operative patient that had a horrible encounter with a chainsaw. Upon arrival, two of their five fingers on their left hand were hanging on by a small thread of skin. After surgery, the blood circulation going to their newly attached fingers is poor and they appear bluish-gray in color. The surgeon says they may, after all, have to be amputated.

In a recent article by Paleontologist, Michael Novacek’s, the author discussed the importance of global warming. Novacek stated that recently people have had a higher interest in recycling because they now realize that global warming is a very serious matter.

The war in Iraq has been going on for years now and I don’t know how many times I have heard angry remarks towards Bush for sending in troops. All I think about is how self-centered American’s are to think only about “our” greater good.

We hear a great deal of talk from presidential candidates concerning health care (or, should I say, a lack thereof) in the U.S. As a person who has recently lost a loved one to cancer because health benefits weren’t provided soon enough I, quite frankly, am sick of talk.

I am a concerned citizen and need to ask some questions and make a point.

How is it that Seattle voters voted on the new Narrows Bridge to become a toll bridge? It seems ridiculous that people that live an hour from crossing the beautiful new bridge back from Gig Harbor, would need to be apart of the decision of whether it was to be a toll bridge or not.

I am a running start student majoring in physical therapy and very involved in pediatric health. I have written numerous papers trying to get readers to understand the epidemic we are in; that of deadly obesity. Americans are among the fattest people on earth living in an overwhelming society where the need for fast food is unavoidable.

This letter is regarding George W. Bush and his latest great idea concerning America’s lust for oil. My question is this; do Americans need oil so badly, that they would actually consider weapons for oil a fair exchange? Why not just call this what it really is, blood and human lives for oil.

I am a medical marijuana patient and I am tired of the persecution of people who use it to alleviate pain, and of the federal government telling states they can't allow their citizens to use the medicine to their benefit.

*Anne, 27, has a boy friend that treats her like his girlfriend. He takes her to dinner, the movies, brings her out with his friends, stares deep into her eyes before going in for the kiss, etc… He even shows jealousy at the thought of other suitors taking his place. The only problem is that he refuses to claim her as his girlfriend.
